Prepare the bottle: Cut the plastic bottle horizontally about one-third from the bottom. You will use the bottom part as the planting pot. If you want, poke a few small holes at the bottom for drainage. (Image: Freepik)
Add drainage layer: Place a few small stones at the bottom to help with water drainage and prevent root rot. (Image: Pinterest)
Fill with soil: Add good-quality potting soil or compost on top of the stones, filling the bottle about three-quarters full. (Image: Freepik)
Plant the seedlings: Make a small hole in the soil and plant the tomato seed or seedling gently. Cover with soil and pat lightly. (Image: Freepik)
Care and Maintenance: Water the soil lightly but thoroughly. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Also, place the bottle near a sunny window or balcony because tomatoes need a plenty of sunlight. As the plant grows, you may need to support it with a small stick or tie. (Image: Freepik)
Harvesting: After a few weeks, you’ll start seeing flowers and then small tomatoes. Pick them when they turn red and ripe. (Image: Freepik)
