Yashasvi Jaiswal is hogging all the limelight after scoring more than 700 runs in the five-match Test series against England. The southpaw hit two double-hundreds and was named the Player of the Series for his batting display.
India captain Rohit Sharma had refused to talk much about the southpaw after his double ton against the Ben Stokes-led team. When Rohit was asked to say a few words about Yashasvi, the skipper said: “I don’t want to say much about him. Let him play, and everyone knows he is playing well.”
Reacting to Rohit’s comment, the young cricketer praised the legendary batter.
“It is good to have him in the team. It is fun to play under him and there a lot of moments which I don’t wnat to disclose. Let them remain with me. He backs the players throughout their journey’s. Whatever happens with you, he will be the first person to be with you. It is good to see this quality in our leader. I will keep learning from him,” Yashasvi Jaiswal told The Indian Express.
Yashasvi will now play for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League 2024. He will open the innings with Jos Buttler.
