Famous Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was recently in Dubai. During one of the events, he lauded former Pakistan captain and the greatest left-arm pacer of all time, Wasim Akram. The legendary seamer was also present in the function.
Akram is hailed for his sensational bowling throughout his career. He was also renowned for his batting and hit a double hundred in one of the Test matches against Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile, Sanjay, who knows Akram for a long time, spoke about the reverse swing.
“It is honour to be here with Wasim Bhai. He is a brother and I have known him for years. He is one of the greatest cricketers I have seen in my life,” Sanjay Dutt said.
“Wasim Bhai is God of Cricket. His reverse swing was just wow and everyone was afraid of him,” he added.
Wasim Akram has donned several hats. He has worked as a coach and commentator after taking retirement from cricket. He was recently in Australia for the three-match Test series between the Pat Cummins-led team and Pakistan.
In 460 matches, he took 916 wickets in his long and fruitful career. Wasim was at his best when Pakistan won the 1992 ODI World Cup under Imran Khan’s captaincy.
Akram was associated with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Wasim Akram Junior, a young cricketer in the UAE, met legend Wasim Akram.
Akram Junior, who is a part of the Thunderbolts, in the league’s development tournament, recently took 6 wickets and was given a chance to speak to Wasim.
The 28-year-old was named after the icon by his father. “My father follows Wasim Akram and he named me after him. I also started following Wasim and became a cricketer. I bat and bowl left-handed,” Akram Junior said.
The conversation between the two revolved around cricket, with Akram praising the young pacer.
“He is a good bowler and has pace and accuracy. I saw his six-wicket spell. I wish him all the best for his future assignments and I will spend time with him in the nets,” Wasim Akram said.
