Team India’s T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, suffered a hand injury in the Buchi Babu Invitational tournament on Friday, August 30. He was injured while fielding for Mumbai on Day 3. He was in the leg slip when Pradosh Ranjan Paul played a delivery in his direction. Surya went for the ball with two hands, but it hit his right hand.
The medical staff gave him treatment on the field, but he left the playing area to receive further treatment.
TNCA game a target of 510 runs to Mumbai in their final group match of the ongoing tournament. Mumbai managed just 156 runs in reponse to TNCA XI’s first innings total of 379.
Suryakumar Yadav scored 30 runs, while Sarfaraz Khan (6) and Shreyas Iyer (2) failed with the bat.
In TNCA XI’s second innings, the efforts of Athish SR (57) and Mokit Hariharan RS (52) took the total to 286.
For Mumbai, spinner Tanush Kotian took five wickets, while Shams Mulani dismissed four batters.
Meanwhile, Suryakumar is due to to for Team C in the upcoming Duleep Trophy 2024. He wants to play Test cricket for India.
