South Africa defeated the Netherlands by 4 wickets in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Chasing 104 runs, the Proteas were 17/3 at one stage. They lost another two scalps with a score reading 46/5 in 11.3 overs. However, David Miller accumulated an unbeaten 59 runs off 51 balls, laced with 4 sixes and 3 fours o win the contest for his team. Tristan Stubbs helped him with 33 off 37.
For the Dutch, Vivian Kingma and Logan van Beek took two wickets each.
Earlier, the Netherlands posted 103/9, with Sybrand Engelbrecht scoring 40 runs. Logan van Beek showed some class, managing 23 runs.
Ottneil Baartman was the most successful bowler for the Aiden Markram-led team. He took 4 wickets. Marco Jansen and Anrich Nortje dismissed two batters each. South Africa have won two matches so far.
