In a thrilling match, RCB Women beat UP Warriorz Women by 2 runs in the second game of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday.
Sobhana Asha was the best performer for the Banglore-based franchise, taking 5 wickets for 22 runs in four overs. She took three wickets in the 18th over of UP’s run-chase to turn the game in her team’s favour. UP Warriorz were ahead in the game, with Grace Harris (38) and Shweta Sehrawat (31) adding important runs for the team. However, their dismissals led to batting collapse.
Poonam Khemnar (14) hit two boundaries in the 19th over but Georgia Wareham and Sophie Molineux bowled smartly to seal an important win for RCB.
Earlier, RCB Women posted 157 for 6, with half-centuries from Richa Ghosh (62) and Sabbhineni Meghana (53).
