Rohit Sharma had hurt his hamstring while celebrating the fall of Babar Azam’s wicket on February 23. He went out of the field, and when the skipper returned, he looked in discomfort. His body didn’t move freely during the course of Team India’s chase, and the legendary batter focussed on big shots instead of running singles and doubles.
His condition hasn’t improved, and the batter opted out of the practice session on Wednesday in Dubai. He didn’t bat and was not involved in games played by the players. According to the Times of India, Rohit jogged under the watchful eyes of the Strength & Conditioning coach Soham Desai, but he struggled while moving.
Rohit had said that he was fine and that there was no reason to be concerned about it. Rohit did some shadow batting while speaking to head coach Gautam Gambhir and the other members of the support staff. Meanwhile, Morne Morkel, who returned to South Africa after the death of his father, has rejoined the team. Virat Kohli batted against the Indian spinners, pacers, and net bowlers.
Mohammed Shami was at his best and troubled Kohli with his pace and line. Morkel saw the proceedings of all the pacers from close range. Rishabh Pant, who was down with a fever, also joined his teammates.
Shubman Gill, who has been the best batter of India, didn’t turn up for the net session.
