Chennai Super Kings will move on from their policy of backing experienced stars over young players. The management has decided to give more chances to the fresh legs in the next season of the Indian Premier League. The debacle in IPL 2025 has forced the decision makers to rethink their next move, and the youngsters have taken priority in their planning for IPL 2025. Ayush Mhatre, Urvil Patel, Shaik Rasheed, and Dewald Brevis are getting regular chances in the ongoing edition, and all of them have shown their skills.
Noor Ahmad has been sensational for the five-time champions and has been a regular wicket-taker for the Men in Blue. Chennai captain MS Dhoni has already started planning for 2026, and he is sure of getting a team ready that can challenge the rivals in the future.
Navjot Singh Sidhu said that Dhoni would be around and that there was no way he would leave the IPL without winning the trophy. He is also supporting Brevis, Mhatre, and Urvil.
“Urvil’s batting and Brevis’ hitting have impressed this season. MS Dhoni’s experience will help in the next year. He will not leave in between. It was after 6 years, CSK completed a chase of 180 runs. Dhoni said that Chennai is preparing for the next season.
“Mhatre, Brevis, and Urvil will be retained for the next season and will come back with full energy in 2026. Dhoni’s presence will help them to win and build the team for the future,” Navjot Singh Sidhu said.
Chennai are tenth in the standings with six points from 12 matches.
