“KL Rahul is a rare player”: Sanjay Manjrekar hails Delhi Capitals batter for his power-hitting

KL Rahul has been batting aggressively in the Indian Premier League 2025. He has batted at the No.3, No.4, and No.6 slots so far. Rahul is the leading run-scorer of his new team despite missing the opening contest due to the birth of his child.

Sanjay Manjrekar lauded the player for his power hitting. He came to the middle after the dismissal of opener Abhishek Porel and amassed 28 runs off 14 balls with the help of 4 fours and 1 six.

In 6 matches, Rahul has accumulated 251 runs at an average of 62.75 and a strike rate of 155.90.

His runs came at a strike rate 200 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. “KL Rahul is a rare player who makes power-hitting look beautiful. He hits big sixes effortlessly. Rahul has been among the runs in all the seasons. His strike rate was down in two editions, and he couldn’t show his aggressive batting at the Punjab Kings due to the pressure of captaincy.

“However, he has compltely transformed his batting in this season. I like his leg glance as there is a calmness in his shot,” Sanjay Manjrekar said.

Lucknow Super Giants did not retain Rahul due to his fallout with the franchise owner, Sanjiv Goenka. Delhi seized the opportunity and added him to the squad after spending 14 crore on the Karnataka-based cricketer.

Rahul doesn’t feature in India’s T20I team, and the wicketkeeper is eyeing a spot based on his performance in the 18th season of the cash-rich league.
