Jay Shah gives a blunt message to out of favour Ishan Kishan for India comeback

India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan scored a stunning hundred in the ongoing Buchi Babu tournament. Leading Jharkhand, the southpaw, showed his class. He will be returning to domestic red-ball cricket in the Duleep Trophy. He is a part of Team D, which will be led by Shreyas Iyer.

Ishan’s last international match was against Australia in 2023. Kishan was with the team in South Africa but opted out midway due to mental fatigue.

He skipped the Ranji Trophy match, which proved costly for him as he was offered a new central contract.

The Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Jay Shah, discussed ways for Ishan to return to the Indian team.

Shah said that the youngster will have to play domestic cricket and follow the rules to be eligible for the Indian team.

‘He will have to follow the rules and play domestic cricket,” Jay Shah told the Times of India.

Kishan played in two Tests, 17 ODIs, and 11 T20Is in 2023 and played two matches in the ICC ODI World Cup.
