Irfan Pathan is not happy with Hardik Pandya since the day he left Gujarat Titans for Mumbai Indians. Since the day the reports started coming in, the former all-rounder has been hitting out at Pandya regularly. He blamed the new skipper of Mumbai Indians for his team’s shocking defeat against GT in IPL 2024.
In the second game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Hardik made another big mistake, and Irfan slammed him once again. He was ordinary with his bowling changes and brought himself to bowl with the new ball despite having Jasprit Bumrah in the plating XI. He committed the same blunder in the opening game, and despite learning from it, Panday decided to hold back the world’s best pacer.
Hardik’s move backfired as the hosts piled up 277/3, the highest score ever in the history of the Indian Premier League.
Pathan lambasted the MI leader. “The captaincy of Hardik Pandya has been ordinary to say the least. Keeping Bumrah away for too long when the carnage was on was beyond my understanding,” he wrote on X.
The Baroda-based cricketer conceded 46 runs from his four overs and took just 1 wicket. The likes of Heinrich Klaasen (80 not out off 34 balls), Travis Head (62 off 24), Abhishek Sharma (63 off 23) and Aiden Markram (42 off 28) took the team to a record-breaking score.
