India register embarrassing record against Pakistan in T20Is

India registered an embarrassing record against Pakistan in T20Is. The Men in Blue were bowled out for 119 runs in 19 overs. This is the first time the Men in Green have bowled out the rivals in the shortest format. In the previous T20Is between the two countries, India were never dismissed. However, the streak was broken in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 after Babar Azam won the toss and invited India to bat first in New York.

Virat Kohli (4) and Rohit Sharma (13) were not among the runs and couldn’t give the team a good start. Rishabh Pant (42) and Axar Patel (20) looked set, but the latter played a suicidal shot against Naseem Shah which not only ended his innings but also allowed the rival team to stage a comeback.

The remaining batters followed each other to the dressing room, with no one even reaching the double-digit mark. Suryakumar (7), Shivam Dube (3), Hardik Pandya (7) and Ravindra Jadeja (0) left the team in trouble.

For Pakistan, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf took three wickets each. Mohammad Amir and Shaheen Afridi added two scalps and 1 scalp, respectively.
