“India can form a second team”: Kevin Pietersen praises the depth of Indian cricket after T20I series win over England

India have been blessed with a lot of young cricketers who are winning matches for the team. In the fourth T20I, Shivam Dube, who was not a part of the original squad, struck an important fifty, helping the Men in Blue win the game by 15 runs. He was struck on the helmet and suffered concussions, and the team management decided to replace him with Harshit Rana, who was on his debut.

The young pacer made an instant impact and took three wickets during the crucial phase of the match. He mixed his deliveries to perfection and didn’t allow the English batters to free their arms. Although he was hit for a few boundaries, his three scalps were enough to put him among the top performers.

Former England captain Kevin Pietersen was impressed with India’s talent in international cricket. He mentioned that the sub-continental country can field two teams in one go.

“It is tough to beat India in India as they use the conditions well and use them to their advantage. This is why they have the 17th consecutive T20I series in this part of the world. Look at the talent on the bench and even those who are not even a part of the team at the moment. India are blessed with match-winners, and they can form a second team. The players who are coming in as replacements are giving match-winning performances. This is good for the Indian cricket,” he said on Star Sports.

India registered victories in Kolkata, Chennai and Pune, while the visitors pulled one back in Rajkot. After the fifth match in Mumbai, the two rivals will compete in a three-match ODI series.
