Former Australia opener Justin Langer heaped massive praise on Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has shown his class on his first tour of Australia. He scored 161 runs in the series opener and then went quiet in two matches before returning to form in fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He scored fifties across both innings and was clinical with the bat.
He was heading for a hundred before a horrible mix-up with Virat Kohli ended his innings on a score of 82. The southpaw went for a risky single and the Aussies grabbed the opportunity. In the second essay, he batted cautiously and played a lot of dot balls.
Langer has been watching him closely and is pleased with the way he bats. “I love watching him bat and just listen to the sound when the ball meets his bat. He is a future star,” he said on Star Sports.
Ravi Shastri feels Jaiswal will improve as a batter after five-match Test series against Australia. “This experience will help him a lot. He will be double of the player after this tour of Australia,” he said.
Jaiswal has been magnificent for India and already has two double Test hundreds to his name.
