Virat Kohli has many names, with King Kohli being the most famous. The veteran has returned to Royal Challengers Bengaluru for the Indian Premier League 2024. Fans welcomed him with a colossal roar during his franchise’s unbox event.
He confessed that he didn’t like to be called the King and urged the fans to refer to him as Virat.
“Guys, you all need to calm down; we’ve got to get to Chennai quickly ” (smiles). I feel embarrassed when you refer to me as the King; tell me, Virat.
RCB will take on Chennai Super Kings in the season’s opening match on March 22. Kohli will have to score runs if the Bengaluru-based team wants to stun the defending champions.
The right-handed batter, who has scored over 7,000 runs in IPL, hasn’t been at his best against the spinners. With conditions suitable for spinners in Chennai, Kohli will have to play out of his skin to accumulate runs.
He recently returned to India after spending a month in London with his wife, Anushka Sharma, who gave birth to their second child, Akaay.
