Former New Zealand Test player Tim Southee has hailed Jasprit Bumrah for his performance across formats in international cricket. Bumrah took 32 wickets in five Tests against Australia and was named the Player of the Series.
Southee mentioned that Bumrah has become a better bowler after his back injury. Southee knows what is needed to achieve success.
Bumrah suffered a back injury in 2022 and was out of action for almost a year. He missed the Sydney Test against Australia due to back spasm in the recently concluded tour.
“He’s been tremendous since returning from an injury. He has always been a special talent and got a unique action and pace,” Southee told Hindustan Times.
“He can move the ball both ways and at a good pace. He has been brilliant and juggling across formats is not easy. It is incredible to be the best bowler in all the formats of the game,” he mentioned.
“I am looking forward to seeing him over the next few years.” Southee also spoke about New Zealand”s Test series win in India.
“It was a memorable win. We have been to India several times but failed to win but this time we managed to script something big. It was remarkable to win all the games.”
