Gautam Gambhir blames Sarfaraz Khan for leaking dressing room conversation during Border-Gavaskar Trophy

Team India’s campaign in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 was marred with controversies. The dressing room conversations were leaked to the media, with head coach Gautam Gambhir speaking against it during his press conference before the fifth and final Test against Australia. According to reports, he slammed the players and threatened them after the team’s defeat in the fourth contest.

He told the players to follow his instructions or else sit out of the team. The veteran also blasted Rishabh Pant for his reckless shot in the second innings in Melbourne and blamed him for the loss. When this information was published, several former Australia players mocked the visiting team. When Gambhir was asked about it by a journalist during his presser, he didn’t say anything directly but spoke about the need of keeping conversations behind the closed doors.

According to News 24, Gambhir accused Sarfaraz Khan of leaking the information to media. The young batter didn’t play a Test in the five-match series Down Under.

Gambhir took Sarfaraz’s name during a review meeting with the officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. India captain Rohit Sharma and the chief selector Ajit Agarkar were also present.
