“Follow KL Rahul”: Cheteshwar Pujara gives blunt message to Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli

Legendary cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara has been urging the Indian batters to spend some time in the middle in the ongoing five-match Test series against Australia. However, it seems the visitors are not ready to learn from their mistakes, and their repeated mode of dismissals has given Australia an edge in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Pujara commented after India lost four wickets with just 52 runs on the board in their first innings of the third Test at the Gabba. Yashasvi Jaiswal (4), Shubman Gill (1), Virat Kohli (3), and Rishabh Pant (9) player reckless shots against Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins.

Only KL Rahul left deliveries that were bowled wide of the off stump and looked confident in the middle. He hit four boundaries and was unbeaten on 33 at the stumps on Day 3 of the Brisbane Test.

“Playing positive cricket doesn’t mean going for shots on deliveries that are meant to be left. Jaiswal, Gill, and Virat were disappointing as they lost their wickets on balls that were not wicket-taking.

“KL Rahul was impressive and the other top order batters can learn from him. You can easily play shots on this wicket once the ball becomes old and this is what we saw when Travis Head and Steve Smith were batting,” Cheteshwar Pujara said on Star Sports.

Earlier, Australia were bowled out for 445 runs, with Jasprit Bumrah taking 6 wickets.
