India is a land of talent across fields. Cricket is the most followed sport in the sub-continent nation. The world has seen the emergence of young cricketers in the Indian Premier League. The ongoing 18th season saw some of the new cricketers dominating their rivals with ease. Vaibhav Suryavanshi stands at the top of the list, considering he is just 14 years old.
The Rajasthan Royals batter hit a hundred and fifty in just seven matches, taking his run tally to above 250. Ayush Mhatre, the 17 year-old Chennai Super Kings sensation, also impressed everyone.
In 6 matches, he scored 206 runs at an average of 34.33 and a strike rate of 187.27. Legendary Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni gave important suggestions to the two young batters. Ian Bishop mentioned the names of the new sensations and urged the CSK skipper to say something about them.
“They have to be consistent. It will not be easy to maintain a strike rate of 200-plus everytime they come out to bat. There will be failures on the way. They will have to back themselves without taking pressure as people will talk about them from outside,” MS Dhoni said.
“They should avoid overthinking after one good season and come back with a positive frame of mind for the next edition. They shouldn’t do anything differently and try to play big innings for their teams. The young players will have to finish the games as well,’ he added.
