Delhi Capitals have moved to the top of the points table in the Women’s Premier League 2024. DC defeated Gujarat Giants by 25 runs on Sunday.. Meg Lanning was the match’s star, with GG losing its fourth consecutive game.
Chasing 164 runs for their first win of the season, Gujarat was restricted to 138/8 in 20 overs. Ashleigh Gardner (40 off 31 balls) was the only batter who stood out for the Giants.
On Sunday, Jess Jonassen and Radha Yadav didn’t allow Gujarat Giants’ players to score heavily at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Their fielding also let them down as the team dropped three catches and missed several regulation fielding chances. Delhi’s innings was not electrifying as they failed to get any momentum.

Earlier, Delhi Capitals reached 163 for 8. Meg Lanning’s 55 off 41 balls kept the scoreboard ticking. After the dismissal of their captain, the remaining batters could only add 61 runs in the final seven overs of the game.
Meghna Singh took four wickets for the Giants while conceding 37 runs from 4 overs. Delhi’s 163 were enough to win the game, and they have moved to the top of the points table. It was their last game at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. They will play their remaining games in Delhi.
