Babar Azam picks his World XI; no place for Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah

Babar Azam has picked his World XI in T20Is, featuring players from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, England, and Australia. Babar didn’t consider Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah in his team despite their magnificent performances in the shortest format. Azam included two players each from five countries and one from a neighbouring nation.

Virat, who accumulated 4188 runs, failed to make the cut, as Babar went with Fakhar Zaman for the number three spot. Rohit Sharma and Mohammad Rizwan were named as openers.

Rohit Sharma scored 4231 runs in 151 innings, including five centuries and 52 half-centuries. Rizwan has posted 3414 runs in 93 T20I innings.

Babar, who has managed 4223 runs, didn’t include himself in the playing group. He selected Team India’s T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav as the no.4 batter. SKY has 2598 runs in 83 T20I matches.

Jos Buttler (3535 runs), David Miller (2591 runs), and Marco Jansen (166 runs and 16 wickets) occupy the next three spots. Rashid Khan (161 wickets) is the only spinner.

Pat Cummins (66 wickets), Mitchell Starc (79 wickets), and Mark Wood (54 wickets) are the three pacers.
