After Harry Brook, another England player returns home; ruled out of first Test against India

Shoaib Bashir has gone back to the United Kingdom and been ruled out of first Test against India in Hyderabad after a visa delay prevented him from travelling to the sub-continent nation.

He is the latest player with Pakistani heritage to be denied visa. Moeen Ali, Saqib Mahmood and Usman Khawaja had to go through same issues before being allowed to play in India.

England believed the problem would be solved but the young spinner has returned home to resolve the issues.

England captain Ben Stokes was unhappy with the situation. “I feel for him. It is his first experience with the England team and I never wanted him to go through all this. I am devastated,” he said.

“He is not the first cricketer to face similar concerns. I have played with guys who have had the same issues.”
