61 runs off 27 balls: Chennai Super Kings’ 14 crore buy destroys Pakistan in first T20I

Pakistan didn’t had a good bowling outing in the first T20I against New Zealand. The wayward line and length by bowlers and dropped catches put the visiting team under pressure. Daryl Mitchell, who was bought by Chennai Super Kings for INR 14 crore, was the most destructive Kiwi batter.

He scored 61 runs off just 27 balls, laced with 4 fours and 4 sixes. Daryl had a strike rate of over 200 and looked at ease against the pacers and spinners.

Apart from Mitchell, Finn Allen (35 off 13 balls) and captain Kane Williamson (57 off 42 balls) also played handy knocks for the host nation. New Zealand scored 226/8 in 20 overs. Barring Haris Rauf and Abbas Afridi, other bowlers proved expensive.

Although captain Shaheen Shah Afridi took 3 wickets, he conceded 46 runs from 4 overs. Aamer Jamal and Usama Mir went for 56 and 51, respectively.
