Arshdeep Singh has achieved remarkable success in the game’s shortest format. In just 63 T20Is, he has taken 99 wickets at an average of 18.30 and an economy of 8.29. Overall, the left-arm seamer has been a part of 163 T20 games, picking up 217 scalps. He has played only for Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League and was bought for INR 18 crore in the mega auction. He has dismissed 86 batters in 71 IPL contests at an average of 26.46 and an economy of 8.98. In the ongoing season of the tournament, the 26-year-old has amassed 10 wickets in 7 matches. His average of 22.40 and an economy of 8.61 are impressive.
Legendary India batter Ajay Jadeja lauded the seamer for his two wickets against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He called him the GOAT (Greatest of all Time) in T20 cricket. Arshdeep didn’t allow RCB openers Virat Kohli and Phil Salt to hit boundaries and sixes. Although Salt smashed the first ball of the match for a four, Arshdeep dismissed him on the fourth delivery to take his revenge. Virat tried to go after the speedster but was caught after scoring 1 run. Singh took two wickets and conceded just 23 runs from his 3 overs.
Jadeja was impressed by Arshdeep’s bowling. “For me, Arshdeep Singh is the GOAT in T20 cricket. He bowled well against RCB and took two important wickets in the form of Virat Kohli and Phil Salt. They can take game away from any team but Arshdeep dominated the two and managed to sent them back to the dressing room,” Jadeja said.
RCB posted 95/9 in 14 overs, while PBKS reached the target in 12.1 overs with 5 wickets in hand.
