Former India player Vinod Kambli has brain clots and will not be charged for the treatment by the Akruti Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital on Monday after complaints of urinary infection and cramps. His health has been deteriorating over the last few days, and his condition made everyone worried when the veteran attended Ramakant Acherakar’s statue unveiling alongside Sachin Tendulkar.
Kambli underwent tests at the hospital, and it was found that he had clots in his brain. S Singh, who is in charge of the Akruti Hospital, has decided to provide life-long free treatment to the player, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Kambli had revealed that Sachin Tendulkar paid for his two surgeries in the past. Former India cricketer Kapil Dev agreed to pay for his treatment if he is willing to go to rehab. Kambli also spoke about the urine infection, and he once collapsed and was taken to the hospital by his son Jesus.
“I was suffereing from an urine infection and was taken to the hosiptal by my son after I fell. My daughter and wife also helped me. The doctors told me to gtet admitted,” he said on Vicky Lalwani’s YouTube channel.
He was one of the best batters of his time but his party habits ruined his career. The selectors gave him several chances, but the left-handed batter didn’t show improvement, and the decision-makers gave up on him.
