Wasim Akram is the most targeted former cricketer on social media. His dancing, celebrations, comments, and dressing sense have been questioned by keyboard warriors on several occasions. The veteran doesn’t leave them easily, and his replies to the mockers have often hogged the limelight.
In the latest rant against his critics, he ended up calling himself blind. He is working as a commentator in the first Test between India and Australia in Perth and has been wearing glasses since Day 1 of the contest. Taking on the trolls, he made a statement that left Deep Dasgupta in splits in the commentary box.
“I am blind and don’t think that these are sunglasses. I can’t see without wearing these glasses, and that’s the sole reason for sporting them. It is better to say before you get trolled on social media,” he said.
Deep started laughing and reminded the greatest left-arm pacer that he was in some mood today. “Wasim bhai, you are in a dangerous mood today since the morning,” Deep Dasgupta said.
Wasim has lauded the Indian team for their fight back in the Perth Test. “Credit goes to all the players for their performance. Restricting Australia after scoring 150 runs is not easy,” he said.
For the record, Australia were bowled for 104 runs, with captain Jasprit Bumrah taking 5 wickets.
